Wonderful hosts and a very nice house but unfortunately the awful road to the house takes the edge off. We would love to go back but something will have to be done to improve the road condition before we do. It either needs sweeping the loose flits away or some tarmac.

We have always tried to stay in Wolsey Lodges whenever we visit the UK. Bealach House was a real find. Very peaceful farmland, wooded surroundings, 1 1/2 miles from the main road. Jim and Hilary were most gracious and experienced hosts. What sets this Wolsey above the others is Hilary's exceptional cooking. We would love to return if we ever get... More

We stayed at Bealach for 2 nights and we were impressed by the hospitality and service. The location is outstanding and do not get put off by being outside the main road as the surrounding is spectacular. We had booked for dinner for the first evening and we were so impressed by the quality of the food that we decided... More

On our 5th visit to Bealach House the food, hospitality and service were as outstanding as ever. How could Hilary & Jim possibly improve? By somehow arranging for a nightly visit from that rare and shy animal the Pine Martin! Quite enchanting and so much in keeping with the fascination and magic of Bealach. 'Lang may yer lums reek'. Will... More

Really lovely location, with hospitality, food and furnishings to match. We arrived after a stunning drive along a Forestry Commission track to find a B and B set amongst some of the best scenery we saw on a tour of Scotland. The food cooked for us that evening was well priced, fresh and delicious and the visit from the pine... More

We can only echo all the compliments already made. The hospitality is superb, the house cosy and the food is excellent, both in quality and presentation. The countryside around is spectacular but because of the much-welcome rain (for the locals) we weren't always able to see the hills. We will definitely return. Ann M.

Its mile and a half from the main road along a forestry commisson track don't let that put you off. When you arrive the views are magnificent, the house is beautifully furnished the hospitality is beyond measure even a wee dram of nectar in your bedroom. There is a warm welcome and the food is of the highest standard, it... More

Arrived after an 8 hour drive from the South to a perfect welcome. Very comfortable room in a well-appointed house. Delightful cuisine. Wonderful hosts who could not have been more attentive.

Bealach Country House was one of our highlights of a month in Scotland. Hosts Hilary and Jim are interesting, pleasant, hospitable, and Hilary's culinary skills are excellent. We had as good a dinner here as any 5 star hotel we stayed in - both nights! We arrived in the rain and it was so nice to sit down to a... More
