Driving around in the pouring rain looking for a pub that was doing a Sunday Carvery was when we stumbled upon the Queens Hotel in Porthmadog and what a pleasant surprise we had, John, Paul and other bar staff were very welcoming and friendly going out of there ways to please us with cooking more fresh veg and a vegetarian... The Queens Hotel has a slightly unprepossessing exterior ( particularly the entrance) but tthe whole place is spotlessly clean, the rooms are equipped with all that one needs, and the food in the restaurant was very good. On top of this we had a twin room and a Double-bedded single for £100 a night B&B - a real bargain!

Thank you Paul and team for a great weekend - have stayed on my own before and came back with friend - welcome was as warm as the first time. Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. Great location. Called into the Sportsman for a drink but not as friendly or as value for money as the Queens Will return
