Found this gem via google earth and trip advisor comments from others who have stayed at Barrett's. Their reviews of this being a 'gem' is absolutely spot on. If you are staying in the area please don't stay anywhere else for the shere delight of the house, the oldest in Rhyl, and the fabulous food too, don't miss this one.... more

I was fortunate enough to have Barretts recommended to me ,by a work colleague.I owe that man a lot. Barretts is indeed an oasis within a desert,a place to retreat to after a hard days work. David and Elvira welcome you on arrival in a manner which seems lost to the national hotel chains. I have stayed at Barretts on... more

Barrat's of Tyn Rhyl seems out of both time and place, set back from a drab and ordinary street in Rhyl. You step inside to a beautiful and welcoming house full of character and history; cosy and comfy sitting rooms with real fires that illuminate the original, decorative oak walls with their ornate features. David and Elvira were the perfect... more

As someone who critiques hospitality establishments for a living this restaurant with rooms was practically perfect in every way. The food was well thought out and highly executed which was complimented by a fantastic wine list. The rooms were spatious and grand. The overall experience made our trip to North Wales very special. more

With a warm and friendly atmosphere this cosy retreat is a must for anyone wishing to experience "Food Heaven". All meals were exquisitely presented and the vegetarian options were, by far, the very best , even when compared to the Jules Verne Restaurant ,Eiffel Tower, Paris. Attention to detail and with a caring attitude to individual needs makes this restaurant... more

We have been staying in North Wales to visit family for many years in Rhyl and only stumbled across this hidden gem this year quite by accident. Reportedly the oldest house in Rhyl (300+ years) this small family run hotel is positioned within the outskirts of a rather charmless area of modern Rhyl. However once inside the grounds you leave... more

I only stayed one night at this cosy hotel, but I will definitely return for a longer period. The rooms were beautifully decorated for Christmas and I received a very warm welcome and personal service. The breakfast was truly superb, full English breakfast with fresh fruit and well presented. I would recommend this hotel as a stopover for anyone travelling... more

If you are seeking superb accommodation in a quiet and pleasant environment with welcoming hosts then look no further. Barratts of Tyn Rhyl, a listed building, has been tastefully and sympathetically maintained creating a real home from home atmosphere where I was made to feel really welcome. The food and service is fantastic, in fact everything about this place is... more

Fantastic room and wonderful hospitality. We were greeted with a cup of tea and a warm slice of cake which was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Room was spotlessly clean and large and even had chocolate, crisps tea/coffee making facilities, water and a decanter of sherry (I think) all complimentary. Breakfast was outstanding with a choice of whatever we required... more
