We chose this B & B as a last minute stopover on a family research trip through Wales. We had heard good reviews but were not sure on arrival exactly what to expect. The decor looked a little old-fashioned and we had not read the tripadvisor reviews. Tim showed us to our room and then brought us a tray of... more

My three sisters and i stayed at the Old Vicarage for three nights last September. What a wonderful place. Helen and Tim pampered all of us as if we were visiting royalty. The food was elegant, beautifully presented and, best of all, fresh from local farms and from the nearby garden. The rooms were lovely and the beds totally comfortable.... more

At the end of September I was fortunate to spend four days at the Old Vicarage Dolfor with three of my sisters (ages 55-70). We couldn't have found a better location for our girls' getaway. Tim and Helen Withers have found the perfect formula for running a B and B, and deserve every one of their five stars. They are... more

We stayed at 'The Old Vicarage' for just one night and really didn't want to leave. Very comfortable rooms well equiped with quality toiletries, chocs, and even a small decanter of sherry to sharpen the appetite for the delicious dinner. Home grown produce and local delicasies. Tim and Helen were great hosts. We will visit again!! more

Stayed at the Old Vicarage last night and had a lovely time. Gorgeous accommodation and location. Didn't book dinner as there wouldn't be a choice of menu and fish was likely to be the main course. The other visitors reported that dinner was lovely and next time we stay we will definitely have dinner. Once you get to the Old... more

The old vicarage is an absolute find. I stayed with a colleague for one night. We were made to feel so welcome with tea and warm biscuits on arrival. The rooms were spotless, beautiful and had everything you needed. Better than most 5 star hotels I have stayed in. Chocolates and sherry in the room. Dinner was a wonderful experience... more

Had a really good stay. They went out of their way to be helpful. The food was excellent and the rooms extremely comfortable. The tranquil setting couldn't be beaten. Good centre for walking Offas Dyke and the Welsh marshes. more

Spent a weekend at the Old Vicarage, and from the moment we arrived had a really great time. A warm welcome from Tim and Helen, followed by afternoon tea in the very comfortable lounge. Our room (the Green Room) was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and had an enormous en-suite bathroom. Views out over the hills were tremendous. On both nights... more

A real home-from-home, but with food that's almost certainly better than you cook/get at home! The rooms are extremely comfortable with nice touches like mineral water, sherry, chocolates and good quality toiletries. It's a quiet location that's very suitable for exploring the beauty of mid-Wales - though you probably do need a car to get around this area. The food... more
