It's a long way but worth it. Beautiful beaches, but go back out of the resort about 2 or 3 miles - they are more sheltered from the wind. Accommodation was basic, tatty and quite small, but fine for a beach holiday. We had the unfortunate instance of one of our members experiencing an "undeserved" DCS hit, requiring an air evac to Havana and 3 chamber rides. Went for a weeks diving with 7 other lads from my local B.S.A.C. club, the diving itself was spectacular, beautiful underwater scenery & loads of fish life at least as good as the Red Sea .
