Simply the most delightful location with a dining platform up steps into the branches of a tree. Superb lunch menu and simply the best lobster salad I have ever eaten up a tree or indeed anywhere! If visiting Grenada this is a must for a lunchtime treat. The accommodation in palm leaf roofed villas is very simple but would provide... more

Petit Bacaye is a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of St George's. The accommodation is really nice and well equipped but don't expect air con. Also because the windows are wooden louvered slats, you can certainly hear the wildlife at night (which I liked!). We stayed in Frangipani house. We were here when the place was empty... more

Great rual location for one who wants to sample local life. Accommodation lovely, beach not as good as we had hoped. Walked out to island and swam in warm nylon pools. Depending on tide there is a lot of seagrass. Fishermen bring in local catches which you can buy and BBQ at your thatched apartment. Peter and Julia very hospitable... more

we have been to Petit Bacaye now 3 times and cannot recommend it highly enough. The most fantastic holiday ever and my husband is Grenadian so he knows locally whats good. Its not a place to go if you don't like rustic local conditions or wonder why mosquito's bite..................but if you want local brilliance, friendly service, quiet and relaxing times... more

Petit Bacaye is not 5* luxury it is a 5* experience that you should not miss, it is a one off, it is impossible to compare with other hotels or holidays. We have stayed at some of the finest and most luxurious hotels in the world and cruised on a 6* decadent luxury liner. Petit Bacaye is up there with... more

My husband and I stayed at the Spice House in May 2006, the rooms were spotless and the service was excellent. We arrived late in the evening a day early and called from the airport and the manager was waiting to show us our room and had a plate of cold foods waiting for us We stayed a week and... more

It does look idyllic but there are problems. We went there for our second week on the island, expecting, from what we had read, 'barefoot luxury'. Luxury it is not! The cabins are pretty but TINY and the problems start when darkness falls, as another reviewer said. There is nowhere to go after supper, other than back to your 'rondavel'... more

We've been looking for a place like Petit Bacaye for years. If, like us, you want tranquillity in a perfect Caribbean setting, it doesn't get much better than this. The minute you get there you get the feeling the staff have welcomed you into their family. Due to work commitments, my husband got there before I did, and they really... more

Booked via phone after a personal recommendation from a friend, Petit Bacaye was to be our Christmas getaway for 2006. There being four of us, we wanted to stay in the Spice House for two weeks, but an availability mix up meant we spent the first week in the two-bedroomed beach house. This means that my family and myself had... more

We had a short but lovely stay here in December. The accommodation is in beautiful beach huts which are spacious and homely. An idylic setting if you want peace and quiet. The breakfasts were very tasty and the warm fresh banana bread is heavenly! We ate our everning meals there a twice and both were delicious. Sadly the rainy season... more
