Lovely location on a hilltop about a 10 minute drive from Waitomo -- on the first day, we could see all the way to the mountains in Tongariro National Park over 100km to the south. Our compact cabin was very comfortable for two with a nice private bathroom (good shower!) in a separate hut next to our room. There is... more

My Husband and I loved Te Tiro. The hosts were extrememly friendly. The views were incredible. The accomodations were comfortable. The location was great, only a 10-15 drive to Waitomo Caves. The only down side was the fact that the bathroom was not attached to the bedroom and you needed to go outside to get to them. more

We took the advice of other travelers on this site and were rewarded with possibly the best accommodations of our trip. The cabin is beautiful, the jams and spreads for breakfast were wonderful. The views amazing. If your going to be in Waitomo this is where to stay! more

Te Tiro is one of those magic places that you always hope you'll find. While there are only two cabins currently, this place is sure to do well and expand. The cabins enjoy an amazing view over the surrounding valley, and are within a short walk from Te Tiro's very own mini glow-worm grotto. The whole place oozes rustic romance... more

We walked through the whimsical gate to get to our cabin around 5pm. Rachel and Angus had left a nice note. The cabin was adorable with all the modern amenities as well. The cabins were modeled after playhouses, and it had a fairytale feel to it. Both cabins are one room with a Queen bed, kitchen table and kitchen area.... more

When we arrived at the cabin we immediately felt at home. To our regret we could only stay for one night. From the porch of the cabin you have a great view over the valley. Especially at nighttime this is breathtaking. The friendly owners are most accommodating. You have a lot of privacy. All in all a very nice B&B... more

Te Tiro was our first place to stay in NZ and we certainly fall in love with this place in the very beginning. Living in the Te Tiro carbin was a great fun for us as we never got a chance to live in our OWN carbin in somewhere like Hong Kong. As we arrived at Te Tiro at night,... more

we stayed for two nights. 2 adults and one child. The two cabins have a lot of character and look lovely. Loft ladder for children which they will love. Awesome hilltop location with an incredible view. The hosts here are extremely friendly and accommodating. You wont find nicer. They took us on two farm trips and ensured a lamb was on... more

My son, Jason, and I booked 1 of the 2 Te Tiro cabins available for overnight stays. It was an extremely comfortable 1 room cabin with TV, kitchen area, bed and loft bed. The bathroom facility is in building between the 2 cabins, and it has 2 separate rooms with modern toilet, sink and shower. The setting couldn’t have been... more
