The only thing going for the Skotel is it's location. Our view was of Mt Ngarohoe at dawn. For an average ski lodge it's not bad, but you don't pay for an average ski lodge. Stayed at Skotel in January with extended family. Location of the hotel is great, not far to the skilifts and a short walk to the tavern and village. Hotel is in a fantastic location in the Whakapapa village and the rooms have amazing views. The downside is the rooms haven't been renovated for over 20 years.
