We happend on this place by chance. As we entered, we immediately took a liking to the casual atmosphere (non-expensive antiques, fireplace, comfy chairs, bookshelves with lots of cookbooks and more). We were shown to our room on the second floor (no lift) which on the lakeside had double-glass windows (to keep noise out). Room was large, clean, with a/c;... more

Our stay at La Marianna was unforgettable. We couldn't have hoped for more warm and welcoming hosts than the Valentinis - they made our time truly special. The hotel is peaceful, very comfortable and offers spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We became regulars at the restaurant, wanting to try other local places but each night we were... more

Our room had a perfect little balcony with a wonderful view of bellagio & lake como. Paola was particularly helpful & even told us how to get to George Clooney's Villa. Good location, 5 mins walk to boat terminal. The room was very clean. Breakfast was pleasant. We also had a lovely meal at the restaurant (had amazing fish lasagna). more

This was our last stop on our 15 day road trip in Italy and our stay was amazingly relaxing. It was just what we needed after all the crowded (but beautiful) cities we had visited. We stayed here for 4 nights and Paola was one of the warmest and friendliest hosts I have known. She was extremely helpful and provided... more

This small, family run hotel is located on a busy street, but this is easily compensated by the amazing terrace with the great view over Lake Como. The rooms are simple, but very clean & the hosts are friendly. The best part of our stay was the restaurant, the food is just heaven & definitely the best we had so... more

We spent 4 great nights in this small hotel in early June. Our room was clean and basically comfortable, with its own large bathroom complete with a bath. Our room also had a window with a view of the lake. Right from the start, Paola made us feel very welcome, greeeting us with an afternoon coffee soon after settling in.... more

It had a little balcony with lake view. Wonderful! Breakfast was servered on the terrace across the street and was very good. A lot of coffee,... more

I really want to like this B&B but I can't endorse it wholeheartedly. Yes, the room which we had on the 2nd floor facing the lake is great in itself -- spacious, clean, sunny, cheerful and with good views of the lake. The common areas were cosy. Paola who runs the place was perfectly helpful and accommodating, while her partner... more

This was one of the most delightful places we've ever stayed, and we've travelled extensively in Europe over the years. The alberghetto is in a quiet town on the lake and it afforded us enchanting views of Bellagio and Varenna across the lake from our balcony. Our clean and spacious room had a very comfortable double bed, luxurious bathsheets, plenty... more

Good location, near the ferry to explore the lake. As others have said there is a bit of road noise, but it does die off at night time and did not bother us. Rooms are simple, nice and clean. Food was the best I have had in Italy in the 3 weeks, and also the best breakfast in a B&B. You... more
