Friendly owners made our stay so enjoyable. Knowing a little Italian coupled with their adequate grasp of English made for fun exchanges. With exception of small shower enclosure, our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Reasonably priced accomodations and excellent food in their restaurant. Glad we were there in March when traffic was very light. more

This hotel is great. The location is awesome. The staff (owners) were very kind, and helpful. My room was wonderful...and had a view to die for...Bellagio... We had a great time at the friendly, family run Hotel Riviera. The hotel isn't luxurious, but it is clean. It can be noisy, but that can't really be helped if one stays on the main road around Lake Como (mad traffic). It didn't bother me. The hotel has a restaurant and I believe the father was the head chef.... more

Stayed here on 7th and 8th of March 2007. We arrived after midnight (our flight didnt get into Malpensa until 10:30pm). The staff were very friendly and happy to get us some wine and and we sat on the Balcony overlooking the lake. The views over the lake across to Bellagio and Varena are fantastic. We had the best time. We wanted views of the lake, to ride bikes, catch ferries or buses or drive easily to many other amazing spots along the lake, eat fabulous local food from the Hotel's restaurant, drink great wine, talk to other travellers, enjoy wonderful evenings walking by the lake, drive to many other gorgeous locations in nearby Switzerland.... more

don't be fooled by the picture and name of hotel. got an outstanding price even w/ a balcony. sounded too good to be true and it was really was. the picture doesn't show the main road that runs along the lake, which was within spitting distance from our balcony. room was very plain jane and bathroom was dark and nothing... more
