Our family of 5 had the most wonderful time at Owlsland over Easter 2009. The boys (aged 5 and 7) loved it so much they cried for at least 15 minutes after driving away and made us promise we'd go back again one day! We flew with Turkish Airlines via Istanbul (a very smooth transfer) to Antalya and then enjoyed... more

We spent two nights at Owlsland and left with some very mixed feelings. There are three rooms - 2 doubles and one twin. One of the doubles and the twin looked pretty light and airy - we were in a room which I nick named 'the cave'. Maybe in the height of summer this dark room would have been a... more

This review really upset us, and we're terribly sorry these guests apparently didn't enjoy their stay. Our whole reason for running this guesthouse is to gain the satisfaction of making people's holidays as enjoyable as possible, and we work hard towards this. When guests first arrive we ALWAYS say "if there's anything you want or need, please, please, just ask...

We had stayed in Kalkan before, but fancied seeing a bit of Turkey which isn't so touristy, and someone suggested we give Owlsland a try - and oh boy, are we glad we did! It's a restored farmhouse, only small, and it's up in the mountains behind Kalkan, about twenty minutes drive away. The village is called Bezirgan, and was... more

If you want to spend a little time in an authentic Turkish village, you couldn't find anywhere better to stay. The farmhouse that you stay in is beautifully renovated and decorated in rustic, traditional style and if you're lucky enough to have the place to yourself, as we were, it feels like your own Turkish home. The village is idyllic... more

We'd booked to stay at Owlsland for the last 4 days of our trip to Turkey, and we wished we'd booked our whole holiday there - it was the highlight of our two-week trip. The village of Berzirgan was just great, the people were so friendly, we were greeted with smiles and welcomes every time we went out the door,... more

We chose Owlsland for our honeymoon because we wanted somewhere secluded and romantic, and a bit special, away from the main "touristy" places, but not so far away that we couldn't get to the beach (a tall order, we know!) And we have to say that Owlsland did fulfil all these requirements - the guesthouse isn't big, with just 3... more

We're a family of four , 2 children, Jake (9) and Sara (11), and we wanted for our third visit to Turkey to get off the coast a bit away from the heat and the mozzies, so we booked at Owlsland, having seen its website. And are we glad we did! It was great, a grand place to use as... more

Our family of 3 (parents and teen) just returned from 5 weeks traveling through Greece and Turkey, and our stay at Owlsland was a trip highlight. We enjoyed the peaceful rural setting, the lovely and comfortable rustic accomodations, and Pauline and Erol's warm hospitality and delicious cooking at breakfast and dinner daily. Nice selection of wine, too. The birding was... more

My boyfriend and I paid a visit to Owlsland in April and after having been to Turkey the 4th time then over 10 or more years, I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted to find. Something real, something welcoming but not hurried to accommodate tourism and well integrated and undisturbing for the life of people as... more

We recently returned from a 2-week trip across Turkey and feel compelled to let people know that our *only* negative experience was at the hands of a Scottish woman, Pauline, who runs Owlsland. It’s NOT worth the trip (25 minute drive north of Kalkan along treacherous, winding roads) or the cost (112 TRL or $75 US per adult, per night)... more
