I think we must have strck unlucky with our room after reading some reviews , we were shown to a dark , damp smelly room in poor decorative order i.e cracks in walls, peeling wallpaper , nasty bathroom etc etc. My partner refused to stay there due to the smell and unhygenic feel to the whole place . We stayed at Fountain Villas in Matlock Bath for along weekend and were very pleased with our room and very good breakfast. Turned up expecting a 4Star like it stated on the website,Shock Horror it was like something out of a horror movie.The room smelt damp, it was dark and dingey, old fashioned woolie blankets , big crack on the ceiling.
