This B&B is only two minutes walk from Rochester station, so is very convenient and is also very convenient to the city centre and all the amenities including the castle and the cathedral and the many interesting shops. Mrs E. Thomas is very welcoming and helpful and provides a good, full English breakfast followed by toast and coffee. She is also very helpful and makes useful suggestions about things to see and do in the city and help on travelling arrangements. Also, at £25 per night, it is excellent value for 2009 - the best value in the whole of Rochester, I'm sure!
The room and the bed were very comfortable, ensuring that weary travellers get a good night's sleep and feel rested the following morning. All the rooms also have a wash hand basin and are recently decorated and well furnished. There is a colour TV, a radio and a welcome tray in the room which is replenished every day Everything was very clean and welcoming, and the room was cleaned thoroughly every day...

That's before you even go to the shared toilet and bathroom. These rooms were so dirty I had to go another hotel to wash my hands (seriously, I did) because the communal hand towel hadn't seen soap in at least a month. Urine stains on the bowl, crud of some description on the seat. I couldn't bring myself to shower in the bathroom--mold, mildew, grunge, gunk. I figured I was cleaner by not showering. The floors were so dirty and worn that I wouldn't allow my feet to touch them. The walls were absolutely filthy and banged up and the cartoon painting of the clouds on the walls--not really making your guests think they're outside. I think the net curtains were white... more
