An excellent historical home with wonderful breakfasts, Glenn and Sue went out of the way to make everyone comfortable and immerse us in Scottish culture. The best location by far for day trips to the Highlands, Glen Coe, Loch Ness, Dalwhinnie, the Ice Factory (ice climbing wall) and more. The nature hikes, bike trails and shopping are excellent. I already stayed there last year with friends and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to share this place with my husband and more friends. The house is so charming and Glen and Suzanne are perfect hosts. They really make you feel welcomed. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms fine and the rooms full of thoughtful details and... More

We first stayed at the Lodge a few years ago as we were travelling around Scotland, looking for places on a daily basis. We had such a lovely, peaceful stay there that we have returned each year since for a short break. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the hosts are fantastic people,... More

This lovely and spacious period home dating from the 1820s Spean Lodge proved to be a real winner. We were lucky enough to be able to upgrade to the family room instead of the twin room we had originally booked and the additional space was much appreciated for our three-night stay. Glen is an enthusiastic and entertaining host who takes... More

This was like staying in a stately home in the Highlands, beautifully restored and with all mod com. The house has a lot of history, and you can read fascinating excerpts from the diary of one of the previous owner's daughters at the end of the nineteenth century. It is approached along a long drive through elegant parkland, although being... More

This is the finest B&B I have ever had the pleasure of stying in. Glen was an excellent host and made us feel very much at home. The family room was excellent and the lodge fascinating with a rich history. We stayed here on our honeymoon 2 weeks ago and this stay stands out as a highlight of our 6... More

We arrived late in the evening for a quick pit stop of just one night on our way further north, and the welcome could not have been warmer. We did not meet Suzanne, but Glen is a great host, showing us around our room and asking about our plans for the week. The room was fab, very comfortable, and the... More

A friend and I stayed here for three nights in July, and had an all-round excellent experience. Glen and Suzanne went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable, right down to carrying luggage upstairs for us, and ironing our eveningwear before a night out at one of Spean Lodge's many fine dining restaurants! Glen's knowledge of the... More

Stayed for one night whilst walking the Great Glen Way, and was delighted with the choice. We received a very warm welcome, and our host couldn't have done more for us. Very clean, and comfortable accommodation and an excellent breakfast. Thanks to Glen for dropping us back to the Great Glen Way, saving our legs for the next day. More

Having stayed in a number of B&Bs and hotels during the course of a week, my wife and I were bowled over by the quality, service and welcome we received at Spean Lodge. Glen could not do enough for us and is possibly one of the most helpful people we've ever met. From the welcome coffee/tea (served in Royal Doulton... More
