December this year was my second stay in Achnabobane. The first time was in September, and was breath-taking itself. Staying in the idillic surroundings with the charming Neil and Elizabeth ( owners) was itself worth going for. The welcome we received was wonderful, and this warm tone continued throughout our stay. The home-cooked breakfasts and dinners were exquisite and fit... more

Had a wonderful few days at Achnabobane Farmhouse. Both me and my dog were made very welcome. Neil, in particular, seems able to make guests feel comfortable with his easy conversation and tales of Scottish history. Food was excellent, genuine farmhouse breakfasts with eggs laid on the farm and other ingredients from local suppliers. Evening meals were a joy -... more

We had the warmest welcome in Scotland and that was at 11:30pm at night! It was with great relief, after several hours of travelling that we finally arrived to find a warm welcome and a comfortable bed. We were on our way to the Highlands and booked a night at the farmhouse with fingers crossed. Other guests were also full... more

A wonderful stay for our familiy. With 2 under 2's both Neil and Elizabeth were wonderfully accomadating and thanks to their family room we were able to keep an eye on our girls whilst enjoying a glass of wine in the main room! The girls loved the added attractions of the animals both in the field and on their breakfast... more

Very nice accomodation (just North of Fort William, on the main road to Iverness). Comfortable and affordable rooms, tasty food and very, very kind people. My room was an "emergency-extra-room" usually not for rent, but there were no accomodation left all around Fort William and Spean Bridge, so they tried to find me other solutions (even calling others B&B) and... more

We booked our stay at Achnabobane farmhouse at the last minute as we were having trouble finding somewhere that would take us and our dog. We only wanted a room for one night but were encouraged by Mr Ockenden that two nights would be better for him! As we were desparate we accepted. On arrival we were greeted warmly enough... more

My husband & I spent a couple of nights at Achnabobane Farmhouse and were very pleasantly suprised with our accomodation. This former farmhouse has been converted into a very clean & welcoming bed & breakfast. The proprietors, Neil & Elizabeth and Morse (resident pet spaniel) were very friendly and helpful and made us both very welcome. We has booked the... more

This is the second time I have stayed at Achnabobane Farmhouse and I really cannot recommend it highly enough. I had such a wonderful few days that I even stayed an extra night. Both Neil and Elizabeth, and Morse of course, made me feel so welcome and could not have done enough for me. The B&B itself is set amongst... more

We arrived at Achnabobane Farmhouse after hours on the road, tired and hungry. Needed somewhere to stay, and drove in after spotting the sign at the end of the road. (Actually, it may have been the sign for neighbouring Achnabobane lodge that had caught our eye but we were glad to land up where we did.) We were welcomed... more

We arrived at Achnabobane Farmhouse unannounced well after 10.00pm on a wet and windy night. Fort William was booked out and we were desperate. About ten miles out on the Inverness road we were ready to give-up and head for home when the headlights picked out a small rain washed B&B notice board set back in the undergrowth. We decided... more
