Comfortable rooms, lots of nice touches such as toiletries, complimentary coffee and shortbread served in the lounge on arrival etc which all goes towards creating a good impression. Friendly but unobtrusive staff. We ate in the restaurant which was good although not great, bit inconsistent as some dishes much better than others but would still recommend overall, and breakfast was... More

An excellent hotel in a fantastic setting! The view from the dining room is amazing! Very friendly, family run hotel with excellent breakfasts. Clean and comfortable, large bathroom, the bedroom was a little cramped on the wardrobe side, but it had a lovely comfortable bed so that made up for it! Had dinner there twice and it was very good,... More

We stayed at the Old Pines Hotel and Restaurant for one night on the way to the Isle of Skye and we loved it very much. It is a small and cozy place with a fireplace in the lounge. The bedrooms are lovely too and very clean. We liked this idyllic hotel because it is located off the busy road,... More

A wonderful start to our trip to Skye. A great place to stay over, before catching the train to Fort William, and then Jacobite steam train to Mallaig, for Skye. A very warm welcome from the owner, who picked us up from the station. Tea and homemade cakes in the lounge, before heading out for a short stroll to the... More

We booked this at the last minute when we saw the mountain weather forecast realised we could bag a couple of Munros at the weekend. We were a little apprehensive because our first visit to the old pines a couple of years ago had been excellent and we were worried that the standard may have slipped. However, we had another... If you're looking for a quiet, picturesque location for a small intimate wedding, I would highly recommend you considered Old Pines Hotel. We got married in April under the pine trees at the front of the hotel, overlooking Ben Nevis and the surrounding stunning landscape. After our ceremony our guests headed indoors for cocktails whilst we got some lovely photos... More

The attention to detail was good however the customer service was bad by who i assumed was the owner, the female waitress was lovely, the less than average standard of food was overpriced, we felt like we were being rushed in and out ... We also heard the comment on the end of the booking call, conclusion, wouldn't recommend to... More

This was our second visit to the Old Pines at Spean Bridge. The owner picked us up at Garelochy, having walked from Neptune's Staircase. The outstanding features of the Old Pines are hospitality, cleanliness, location, food, comfort, value, I could go on and on. The home cooked food by the owner's wife, is amazing. From the crisps to the bread... More

I booked this restaurant for my husbands birthday by phoning direct and assume I spoke to the manager/owner who sounded lovely. I was really looking forward to dining here because of that so was a bit disappointed when we arrived to find the place extremely quiet, only 2 (maybe 3) waiting staff were on with no sign of any manager...
