The Freeman Lodge is about a 20 minute walk into the CBD but the area is a bit scary at night. Bob is great and provides really useful information and help renting cars. The hostel has a very friendly atmosphere. The hostel is located on a busy street so it can get very loud at night.

Freeman Lodge is a smallish hostel/pension near the Cricket Grounds in Melbourne. The owners are fantastic - very helpful and informative.
