If you want to stay the night in Rust (which may be Burgenland's most picturesque town), but prefer to spend less than the larger hotels near the lake charge, you might consider this place. Its location on the large main square is ideal, the rooms are compact (and no longer new) but well-maintained, the attached restaurant has good pizza and outside seating, parking is not a problem, and the price is right. On the other hand, you probably won't sleep past 6:00 am, when the bells in the large church next door (turned off for the night) resume their quarter-hourly ringing. And if the outside temperature reaches even 70 F, your room, especially if it's third floor/"under the roof," will be uncomfortably warm (minus a/c, fans, or cross ventilation). more
