We have serious concerns about the safety aspect of skiing in Pamporovo. Health and Safety doesn’t seem to have reached Bulgaria yet.
On the right hand side of Black Run 3, there is a low concrete retaining wall which has been painted white – yes white! It is not fenced off and was practically totally hidden by new snow. Our teenage son hit it at speed and was lucky not to injure himself badly. The pistes are not very well marked and some runs do not appear on the piste map. The piste map is very inaccurate.
There is only one run back to Ski Center 2. It is a green which can get very crowded especially when the ski classes all finish together.
The new blue runs down to Stoikite (and the fabulous covered 6-man chair lift) have not been completed and are not very well marked at the bottom.
