The location is a 10 minute walk from the start of the tourist/harbour area along a main road. The beach opposite is very narrow but improves towards the town/tavernas. We found the studio OK but with a very odd plumbing system, even by Greek standards and generally low quality equipment. The owner was helpful but a bit amateurish. The grapes were excellent. more

Sitia, Crete. We traveled through Crete without having made reservations anywhere and stumbled upon a real gem;
Villa Dimitra (recommended by a friendly competitor) is clean, friendly, and inexpensive (40 euros a night). We stayed in a charming room with an ocean view (albeit across the main road and set back some) a real kitchen, a front and back balcony (made for a perfect breeze!) Air conditioning is available but when both front and back windows are open you don't need it!
You will need to call or drop by as she doesn't have email or a web site.
