Stayed here with a gang of like minded family anxious for a few nights with out kids and we had a blast. Lovely clean and spacious. The enormous bed was great. We ate in the retaurant and it was good value and the service was excellent. Enjoyed the wine list! The owners made us feel very welcome and i wiould... more

My husband and I stayed at The Moorings for a week from July 12th. Apart from a few minor problems our stay in The Moorings could not be faulted.I will get the negatives over first! On arrival we were shown to a room which we were not happy with, but as soon as I explained this we were shown to... more

Stayed here while touring Kerry. The room were average, clean, and a good size. We had a large bathroom, and there was good pressure in the shower. We looked out over a yard area for the pub, which had a large refrigation unit, so we could not open our window, as it was noisy. The room was very warm, and... more

We detoured to the charming town of Portmagee to check out the Skelligs. The Moorings can make the arrangements for you, and it seemed easiest, right there at the port. Turned out to be a great idea. Everything about this hotel is of high quality and tastefully done. You pay for what you get. The friendly girl at the reception... more

We stayed in the hotel using their two night B&B and 1 evening meal offer. I'm not sure whether to call it a guesthouse or a hotel as the standard was above that of guesthouse but it seemed cosier than a hotel. We we taken to our room, which was on the second floor, it contained a king sized bed... more

Stayed here as part of a small tour group (13 people) for one night. Portmagee doesn't have a lot going on. We arrived and ran to the convenient store before it closed at 6pm to grab bottled water. Our triple guest room was clean and comfortable, however the view was of a back street and parking lot which wasnt overly... more

My mother, son & I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the moorings. We were visiting relations in the area and decided to use this as our base. We had a two night stay, 2 breakfasts & 1 dinner deal. The restaurant food was excellent, staff friendly, and it was very busy. The bar food was equally as nice.... more

We stayed at mostly b & b's while on our 2 week trip to Ireland in May-June 2008. The Moorings has a hotel look and feel, as the "Guesthouse' name implies. Our room was spacious and very well appointed. The bathroom and little giveaway items such as teas, coffees, were the best of our trip. On the downside, our room... more

great guest house in terms of location. Felt the staff were totally disinterested in us- never even asked us if we had enjoyed our day at the Skelligs- which was the key part of the package dinner in package- totally overpriced and restricted (bar meal next door next night much nicer) packed lunch- horrible and ordinary more
