We stayed here for a night at the end of July as we were in Portmagee for a family event. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and we had a lovely view of the village too. The en-suite shower room was grand, the cleanliness wasn't to be faulted. The cold water tap in our room had... More

This is a new hostel by most hostel standards. I had a twin room (I think they are all twins or doubles). Bedroom are good and an electric wall heater kept the room warm. Kitchen is a standard home kitchen by 2 and the dining area was comfortable as was the living room. A warm welcome by the Eastern European... More

I stayed here for three nights and it's one of my most memorable stays in Ireland. I came here to see Skellig Michael Island. A very surreal and thrilling experience. I've never walked up such steep steps on such a remote, beautiful island, all while carrying a camera bag and tripod. It was nice to come back to a friendly,... More

At the very affordable Portmagee Hostel, it was close to town, clean basic rooms, and comfortable. Our beds were good, and the living room and kitchen areas were adequate and we used them both while we were there. We had a little trouble finding someone when we rolled into Portmagee Hostel but, as it is with some places in Ireland,... More

Ideal location for boat trips to Skelligs and visits to Valentia Island. Warm cosy modern, basic rooms. Right in the village and beside the port. Easy walk to the pub at night.. Parking available.

We were so pleased with this place! Lucy the manager was so friendly and helpful, the hostel itself was very modern, clean and practical with no bad vibes what-so-ever! I would recommend it for all types, be-it a queit time away on your own or the craic that can be found any night of the week in the local pub!

The hostel is only a 5 minute walk from the fishing village of Portmagee. It is a very new purpose built building with a number of accommodation options. Single €22.50, Two Sharing €15 each. There are rooms with en suites and also family rooms. There are three accommodation blocks with approximately 5 rooms in each block. There are two kitchens... More
