Booked late for this hotel and wasn't sure what I would find. Rooms were slightly tired but imaculately clean. Staff very helpfull and food excelent. Much better than staying in an box room like Travelodge. Manager asked me to make some comments because of some bad reviews with previous owners. Would definately recomend for cleanliness friendlyness, service.and Character. more

Odd decor, quickly eclipsed by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was very good indeed. Lots of interesting twists like coriander and cumin in the humous. The chef, through some dark art had managed to make a belly of pork tender, moist, free of fat and with lovely crackling. How does he do that ? Desserts were beautiful and delicious. Lots... more

Let's do the good stuff first. We arrived at around 5.30 p.m. and were courteously and cheerfully greeted by a young gentleman who answered our questions, confirmed that all of our dietary needs could be attended to and poured me a much needed pint of well kept ale. Dinner for four of us was extremely well cooked and presented from... more

First of all, I would say the rooms were about average for the price we paid. My colleague didn't have a remote for his TV (room 8) and the bathroom blind was broken in my room, and the sink was loosely attached to the wall. (Room 9). The kettle worked, and there was plenty of milk and teabags provided. My... more

"During my stay of two nights I was placed in room 5. The room was tired, probably having last been updated in the 1980's. Furniture was chipped and poor quality. Wall paper was torn in parts. The TV was at least 15-20 years old, was probably a 17" screen and had no remote. The bathroom was very tired. Much chipped... more

My wife and I stayed here for a single night B&B and found it most comfortable. The booking was most efficiently made without any prior knowledge of what the place was like. We had swift e-mail confirmation too - very reassuring. We arrived late - around 9pm - by taxi and we were told that they could even serve us... more

Rather worried about staying here after looking at the reviews but needs must as was attending a wedding nearby and rooms are in short supply around there. The room we had was obviously recently decorated, nothing flashy just clean and comfortable, duvet on the bed - white cotton cover, sheets etc. Rather than rush down for the wedding we stayed... more

We have just returned from a night at this pub. The food was fantastic and our waiter was informative and helpful . However the experience was marred by our shabby room in the Coach House. It was dirty and dated and had a strong smell of damp coming from the bathroom . This is such a shame , the Inn... more

The service at breakfast was very slow and poor. The beds were not made on 1 day,(we stayed for 3 nights). We had to request toilet rolls. The rooms were shabby and could do with a good dust. The PAT testing on the electrical appliances was out of date and the fire door from the Coach House annex where we... more
