Enjoyed a one night stay at No54 on Saturday 17th December. A truly excellent experience. The rooms are so comfortable and breakfast excellent/ Little touches like fresh milk and a piece of cake on arrival just make all the difference. A gem of a place in a market town that we love so much. Give it a try, you won't... More

We stayed here in 2005 and returned as part of my birthday celebrations this year. Lizzie is a warm and friendly host and you feel very relaxed in her company. The rooms are very well appointed with a well stocked tea and coffee tray and lovely toiletries. Although we were not feeling very hungry this morning after a meal out... More

I have stayed for a number of weeks at No 54 while working in the area, & it is an excellent place to stay. Lizzie makes you feel very welcome & her cakes are tremendous. The rooms are all to a very high standard & are very comfortable. You will not regret staying at No 54 & it is very... More

Recently stayed for a weekend whilst in Helmsley for a wedding. No 54 is an absolutely marvellous place. Situated 5 mins walk from the centre of Helmsley, with parking on the road outside. You walk through the main house and out into the garden to reach the rooms, which are situated at the back of the house opening out onto... More

This is a lovely and friendly B&B. Able to be independent. Host cooks a great breakfast, very welcoming and good local knowledge. Best B&B I've stayed in. More

We liked this attractively decorated small B & B, and really liked the breakfast cooked by the friendly host (who also gave good advice about places to eat in Helmsley). There was only one problem: we had a twin room, and the beds (although they looked nice), were really soggy - a strange thing to find in a place that... More

Thank you for your review of our B&B on Trip Advisor. In your review can I assume that you meant the mattresses were soft? The word soggy implies that they were wet and this is an impossibility. Some of our guests prefer a softer mattress, however, I shall leave a guest questionaire in the rooms to survey this matter and... More

Keep returning to No 54 because of it's old style with modern crispness. It's very boutique with it's interiors and lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast is amazing! From healthy joghurt and homemade fruit compote to full Yorkshire breakfast. We love it's style and friendliness. More

Lovely B&B in an attractive village at the start of the Cleveland Way. An initial mix up about our room was sorted out very quickly. Room was smallish but well furnished and lovely linen and towels. Beautiful central courtyard onto which the rooms open. Breakfast was scrummy, lovely fruit and yogurt followed by lots of lovely choices. More

During the first week in March I had a three night break at No 54 Helmsley North Yorks. What a wonderful experience! From the lovely welcome from Lizzie (and little dog Ruby) to the sumptuous picnic lunch Lizzie provided for us on leaving. Having said that after the breakfast we devoured I think we coould have managed for the rest... More
