Detailed Reviews
Eastfield Lodge is a real find. We are a group of 15 friends who meet every year for 2 or 3 nights in a different part of the country. Eastfield Is one of the very best: all the rooms were comfortable with everything we needed. The sitting and dining rooms were comfortably big enough for us all. There is a smaller room with everything one needs for drinks: kettle, teas, coffe, large drinks fridge, smaller fridge with fresh milk, mugs and glasses, and comfortable seating. There is a good boot/drying room. But best of all are the breakfasts: freshly-made porridge or a wide range of cereals, lots of fruit, seeds and spices, and the most superlative choice of freshly cooked breakfasts from the traditional to vegan to poached egg on smashed avocado on a field mushroom with real tomatoes and bacon or sausage.
The house is just off the market place in Leyburn so one can walk from the door. Although it is on the main road, one does not hear the traffic at all.

Stayed as a family group. Fortunate to have exclusive use of the lounge area which made it a very memorable stay. Penny & Henry were super efficient hosts. We had a baby in our party and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. We had to evening meals whilst there that were just the job. The quality of the breakfasts were excellent; using locally sourced produce. Our rooms were very comfortable and cosy. We had a view across the valley that was amazing. Leyburn centre was a five minute stroll up the road. All current covid rules were strictly adhered to by our hosts without impinging on stay.

We have just returned home from a four night stay at Eastfield Lodge involving a group hiking in the Yorkshire Dales. Where do I start ( no need to get alarmed Penny)!
The Lodge is very comfortable indeed, the rooms also very comfortable and well furnished. The breakfasts, courtesy of Henry, ably assisted by Sally and Ffion, were excellent and based solely on locally sourced ingredients. And the local butcher laid on a superb barbeque one evening. Penny, our expert group leader, took us on three days of hiking that included getting to the summit of 5 of the Dales in the top twenty. The views were breathtaking and the weather was good. Penny was incredibly dependable and knowledgeable and looked after everyone in the group of ten.
Leyburn itself is a lovely Yorkshire town with excellent pubs and restaurants only a few minutes walk from the Lodge. The locals all seemed so friendly.
We all gelled very well as a group and we were hosted perfectly by Penny and Henry.
We look forward to our next trip to Eastfield Lodge and the prospect of exploring the unspoilt Dales further.

Visited this b and b for my husband's 50th birthday. Location is spot on and only walking few mins into the main area.
Parking is an issue at the moment as they are having alot of work done on the property as found out it will be going to sole use of the house for groups only and self catering apartments. Quite difficult getting out of the drive.
Breakfast was lovely all local produce cold selection was good, but only a full cooked breakfast available, on menu.
Room was very clean and spacious with Fabulous views.

A perfect base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
We booked the entire house as a group: the bedrooms were spacious and beautifully presented, and the communal areas worked really well.
Thanks to Penny for a really lovely guided walk, and for sharing your knowledge of flora, fauna, pubs and publicans!

As a child this was our family home. I have such wonderful memories of this house. I love what you have done with the place. You've kept its magic. Thank you.
I remember the old kitchen and the chickens out the back and the dining room and piano in the drawing room after dinner. And the big old grandfather clock in the hall.

We are so happy that Henry & Penny had availability for us in the 'Den' cosy apartment / cottage at the back of the B&B.
Was absolutely superb and exactly what we needed during our stay in Leyburn.
Excellent location and provided us with a great base for getting out to the dales and nearby waterfalls at Aysgarth and Hard Raw being well worth a visit.
Henry and Penny had covered off every eventuality with their COVID safe risk assessments and they made us feel completely assured and welcome during our 4 nights with them.
Beautiful place on the edge of Leyburn and the gateway to the top of the dales.
Loved it!

Booked at the last minute and very glad we did! Excellent value for money and Henry was lovely. Walked in from the cold to a lovely, warm and cosy apartment which had everything you’d need for a nights stay (tea, coffee, milk, toiletries etc).
Very clean and comfortable to stay in. Would definitely book to stay again if we were up that way!
Only negative was that it’s not double glazed so gets cold quite quickly when the heating goes off but this didn’t bother us much (hence review still being 5 star)

Penny & Henry who run the lodge were so welcoming and provided everything we needed for our stay! We stayed in the den (separate apartment) which was the perfect treat to end our camping holiday. Can't recommend this place highly enough & would definitely return.
