That's what Bill Rush told me during our email exchange booking my stay and boy was he right. I stayed three nights had a wonderful time. Bill and Barbara are excellent hosts. The house is beautiful. The rooms are bright, clean and spacious. I had a hearty cooked breakfast every day by Bill and didn't need to eat again until... More

The Retreat is in a lovely country setting, but you are very close to some villages. Bill and Barbara are outstanding hosts. We had tea when we arrived and warmed ourselves in front of the log burner. Our room was lovely- large, great beds, and the bathroom was huge with many lotions and potions. The breakfast was great and serve... More

There are so many nice things to say about Barbara and Bill's Retreat, that there is not enough room on here for them all. A true oasis while on your traveling journey, Barbara and Bill will treat you with a warm and cozy atmosphere and truly welcome you into their home. My family and I were a group of eight,... More

Hi Sheena we have just read your lovely review and your kind comments mean a lot to us. Bill and I loved having you all stay and the house seemed very quiet when you left. That last evening all sitting around the table for hours will always stay with us as a special memory. Hope our input helped with the... More

Bill and Barbara made us feel at home immediately we arrived. Our room was luxurious and so comfortable. We spent time with Bill and Barbara getting to know them and relaxing in front of the log burner. Breakfast was excellent and it was nice to know that had we more time we could have enjoyed a massage/relexology to really make... More

Grey Abbey Retreat is meticulously clean. The location is so easy to get to once you locate the large town Newtownards and head south east. My room was palatial, the bed fantastic, the FREE hi-speed internet to die for, and the other facilities simply superb. It had EVERYTHING I wanted. I sept like a log and was very cosy and... More

Greyabbey is one of the best places to stay in and around Belfast and Strangford lough. Being originally from Northern Ireland, I have travelled all over ireland for the past 15 years staying mostly in Bed and Breakfast. I was fortunate enough to stay at the Retreat with my wife and I will tell you, it is one of the... More

We chose The Retreat as the men had business in the area, and it offered alternative therapy treatments aswell as your typical bed and breakfast one would expect. That way both parties were kept happy! From arrival we were treated with the ultimate hospitality, the couple could not do enough to make our stay any more pleasurable, they provided two... More

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing break away from it all and pure relaxation is exactly what we experienced in our stay in the Retreat. From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel so at home and welcome by the couple who own the B&B. Our room was very clean, all mod cons,... More

This is the perfect place to forget about about everyday life and to relax. The people that own this B and B are so accomodating and did everything they could to ensure our 2 year old was well entertained, including offering to borrow dvds for him. The room itself is very modern with a tv and dvd player. The room... More
