I stayed at Laurel Villa with my 13yo grandson Thomas from 27th July until 1st August in 2011 whilst catching up with family and friends and never have I been made as welcome as I was by Eugene and Geraldine. The food was superb, the rooms were lovely, the beds very comfortable, the room spotlessly clean as was the rest of... More

I loved everything about Laurel Villa and would thoroughly recommend a stay there. Eugene and Geraldine welcomed us like family and treated us like royalty. Eugene had local knowledge of our great grandmother's family and drove us around to see the old gravestones and sites of houses. He brought our history alive. We'll be going back! More

We only had one night here whilst visiting friends but Laurel Villa is a marvellous house and the breakfast was delicious with so much choice. I was educated on Seamus Heaney and could have spent my whole time there reading his framed poems which adorn the walls. Gerardine and Eugene are great hosts who take the time to chat and... More

We loved our hosts, Eugene and Gerardine! Our breakfast was fabulous. The posters of Irish poems and the rooms named after famous Irish poets were a reminder of the depth and history of this passionate culture. More

We stayed at Laurel Villa with our son and his girlfriend for two nights whilst visiting the area for a family wedding. Gerardine and Eugene made us so welcome. Their home is beautiful, very comfortable - a real home from home plus, plus, plus. We could have sat over breakfast all day. It was so delicious. A picture on a... More

Have stayed in Laurel Villa many times & never been disappointed. Gerardine & Eugene are experts in their field & make you feel totally at home. While their hospitality is second to none you still have all the privacy of a magnificent house full of beautiful things. Laurel Villa is also the perfect base for anyone wanting to discover N.Ireland.... More

I spent time at the Laurel Villa while traveling by myself through Northern Ireland in June 2011. As a college student from the US traveling solo, I was nervous about finding accommodation in an unfamiliar place. I can honestly say that the time I spent at the Laurel Villa was my favorite part of my trip - Eugene and Gerardine... More

We could only stay for one night, which was unfortunate, as the welcome and personal attention that we received was much appreciated. The twin room with ensuite toilet and shower (Louis MacNeice Room) was very warm and comfortable (whether you had a serious interest in poetry or not). The style and taste with which this unique guest house has been furnished and... More

This B&B is delightfully decorated with many works from irish poets. Even if you don't enjoy poetry or had bad experiences with it from school days the context in which poems are presented in the lovely decorated rooms gives you a second change to appreciate the wonder of a poet's words. Rooms are variously decorated - we stayed in 2... More

4 of us stayed at Laurel Villa for 3 nights, and it was absolutely splendid in every way. Nice rooms, comfortable beds, excellent breakfasts, but above all wonderful kindness and genuine friendship from Eugene and Gerardine. For any Heaney enthusiast (which we are), Eugene is a mine of information and unstintingly gave his time to our enquiries. I cannot recommend Laurel Villa... More
