My husband booked Kildrummy Inn for a 1 night Valentines break after hearing a local radio advert. On arriving we were show to our room where roses & chocolates were waiting on the bed arranged via my husband with the owners. I understand Sylvia made the bouquet herself & it was beautiful. The room was clean & had lovely pictures... more

This is a fairly remote corner of the highlands, so finding a comfortable room, excellent restaurant and very personable host was a treat. Our room, Lulach's Stone, was beautifully redone with modern furnishings. Darren became like a friend, looking after us and opening up easily about his life as we shared ours. Kildrummy makes a good base for exploring castles... more

Just returned from another excellent stay on the caravan site at Kildrummy Inn. We generally visit the site 3 or 4 times a year and just love the place. Not just to the caravan site, but also in the accommodation over the winter months when it's not exactly caravanning weather. Both Darren & Sylvia and the perfect hosts and ensure... more

Just to confirm, we did not actually stay, but visited the Inn for food. It was so awful, that I wanted to advise people! Firstly, has Darren not seen "Ramsay's nightmares"? How can a small kitchen with one or two people in it service such a huge menu? Impossible, and we found out how. My wife ordered "Beer Battered Cod"... more

Management response from
Kildrummy-Inn, Proprietor

Response from Darren: Firstly when you try and cater for a massively wide spectrum in rural location such as ours. Very occasionally somebody is going to pick something they don’t like or agree with. Secondly having been in the hotel & catering industry for over 19 years (although still only the tender age of 34 & very well trained) any...

Our last stay for four nights was partly a mistake in that I had intended the Kildrummy Hotel. In this instance it was a good mistake, It was half the price but the standard was superb and matched many hotels at which we have stayed. Our hosts Darren and Sylvia Gimber were charming and helpful and the inn is very... more

I was told about having to work in Aberdeenshire at short notice and I booked this Inn as it was the only one I could find that had vacancies. I booked with some trepidation (mistakenly thought it would be too far to travel each day to Aberdeen), but on arrival at the Inn I was astounded. This really is a... more

A fantastic find if you are anywhere near Aberdeen in this part of Scotland. The food is simply fantastic, with both Darren and Sylvia cooking up a storm every night except Tuesdays when they have a deserved night off. The Shank of Venison this year was simply divine..... Great accommodation too, with tastefully decorated rooms and good central heating. All... more

We've eaten here various times - good food and price. First class chef with a variety of specials. Rooms are great - all mod cons and newly decorated. Sylvia and Darren are excellent hosts. We've also used their function room for our wedding reception for 70 people. We had an excellent day and they did a great job with the... more

We stayed only one night but I wish we'd had time to stay longer. It's clean and charming. The food was good and the owners friendly. more
