After trying unsuccessfully to find a budget option in Muscat, I finally found the Naseem Hotel on my second day in the city, and what a great find it was! A good value hotel. I stayed there with my boyfriend for a quick weekend getaway, more of a cultural one than romantic. The hotel is definitely a bit old, but everything was pretty clean. I wanted a budget hotel with a great location, and that's what I got. Panoramic view of the port, with all the lights, cranes, dhow boats, cruise ships; the medieval castles perched on the cliffs overlooking the sea, and the Corniche along the waterfront, with the beautiful patrician homes and shops, with the souq in the middle of it all.... more
