We recently booked a 'Pamper Pack' through Hanmer Springs Thermal Resort and because it was only a week out, we had no choice of accommodation and had to to stay at the Scarborough Lodge Motel. The $299 package included 1 nights accommodation, 2 massages, 2 saunas, 2 private hot pools and two days entry to the Hot Springs, so I figure the Scarborough probably cost about NZ$95 for the night. It was a nice quiet location, away from the main drag, and it has only two units. Ours was very clean, and seemed quite new. It contained a king size bed, kitchen area, bathroom with double spa bath and separate shower. There was cable TV and an outdoor table and two chairs in a garden setting. The room was well lit, and warm and quiet for sleeping. There was no view to speak of. The Hot Springs are about 5 minutes walk down a pretty street.
