We booked five days in this very friendly hotel. Stayed in a spacious family room (with separate room for our kids) overlooking the wonderful lawn (where we ate breakfast and dinner) and the Lake. Hotel owners are experienced, which shows in details (e.g. child strollers available at the hotel desk). The hotel is located in the very center of Velden ("Monte Carlo of Austria") but still an oasis of tranquility. Child care is available during week days. Breakfast was copious, half board always very tasty and with good price/quality relation. Free parking near the hotel. Friendly staff. For all you coming from Western Europe, a general warning: beware of ticks. Kärnten has a species that bears not only Lyme disease bacteria, but also a nasty virus potentially leading to encephalitis. Get your vaccine! more
