I stayed in this hotel as a teacher accompanying a school group visiting the area; we stayed for 4 nights. Hornberg itself seemed to be a typical village with nothing particularly good or bad about it. The hotel gives a lovely first impression - it has a stream running outside, is surrounded by forest and the restaurant and bar areas are modern and very clean. The rooms in the hotel itself, although clean and reasonably sized, are very dated - most of the furntiure looked as if it is from the 1960s/70s. Some of our group were in rooms in other buildings nearby, which appear to be bigger and more modern than those in the hotel. itself. The hotel owner and his staff were all very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Food was plentiful, well presented and well cooked, typical hearty German fare. The hotel has its own 2-lane bowling alley. I went for a walk in the nearby forest one evening and there were plenty of easy to follow paths for a gentle (or less gentle!) evening stroll. more
