As you might tell from the title, I am a fan of Jever Pilsner. I have been since the first time I had a mug on draft in the 1970s. This past month I actually paid a visit to the small town where it has been made for the past 160 years.
Although it isn't as good as it once was (what beer is?) Jever is my favorite and not available in the US. The hotel is right on the town square and you can almost throw a bottle and hit the brewery from there. Which is a bonus if you want to stagger back from the brewery's hospitality room or the attached bierstube. But you can get draft Jever all over town, including in this hotel, so you don't have to limit yourself.
The hotel rooms, while somewhat spartanly equipped, are very large. This is unusual in northern Europe. The bathrooms were very nice. As I laid myself down for the night I had a real bad premonition about church bells. But thankfully, there wasn't one in this village square and I slept like a baby.
