As a solo traveller I was made to feel very welcome here and the staff were very helpful at all times. My room was huge with a double bed and a sitting area with table, sofa and chairs. The bathroom was also spacious and the bath was handy for a soak after a days hiking. Breakfast was plentiful with lovely... more

My husband and some friends of our had an absolute lovely W/End at Hotell Geiranger end August. The weather was just fine for hiking, and there certainly are good possibilities for this. The food, both at the informal à la carte-restaurant and at the main restaurant, where we had huge buffets both for breakfast and for dinner, was excellent and... more

We stayed at the Hotel Geiranger July 2009 as we toured the Fjords of Norway. The hotel is a pretty basic, older hotel in a great location. Being in Geiranger, the options are VERY limited, and because of that you get a very average hotel at a pretty high cost. Positives: If you are just looking for a place to... more

After being blown away by the beautiful Geiranger fjord, upon getting to my room at Hotel Geiranger I was blown away once again when I saw the view outside of the window and from our balcony. I’ve never been to a hotel that’s offered a view quite like this one! Sure the room is very old fashioned and the décor... more

Me and my girlfriend wanted to have a nice weekend in our back yard(we live in Molde), we wanted to go hiking around Geiranger. And we didnt care too much about the room other than it should be clean and neat. And we did not get a room with a view, as we would stay outdoors most of the day... more

We stopped here for 2 nights, 18th-19th May with a Trafalgar Tour group, because some of the roads were still closed, we had to come in by Ferry, a freebie additional tour at no cost!!! The trip in and out by boat is worth it alone and you know something is up when the tour guide tells you that they... more

The hotel is right on the harbour and is used mainly for tour groups. Ask for an upgrade if available and if possible get one of the renovated rooms, same size as others but worth the extra money. Also have breakfast late after the groups have left otherwise there is a lack of tables. Try the cafes in town for... more

My husband and I just recently returned from a spectacular trip to Norway. Our stay at the Geiranger Hotel was one of the high points of our experience. We had a beautiful view of the fjord, ideal location, and friendly service. We were especially impressed with their meals - so much food! more

While the hotel is well located on the shore of the fjord and the rooms are reasonable (we had a nice balcony with a fjord view) it suffers from poor management and bad service. Its really only a place for the tour groups that are dumped there for one night stays and then herded out. Not so many people stay... more

Big hotel, in a small village, and is aimed very very clearly at large tour groups. If you need somewhere to put a group of 100 people up for the night, this place is just what you need. If however you want something with a little bit of character, or want something that's not just bland, then go look elsewhere more
