The setting of the Parador in Mazagon is stunning - it's a low, modern building which doesn't try and compete with its surroundings - a lush green lawn (rare in Andalucia!) with beautifully-tended flowers leading down to a pool, with the sea beyond. We were at the parador in late November, at a time when lots of work was being done on the grounds and parts of the building. The site is very beautiful, but the beach was dirty and trashy - again, perhaps at this time of year there is little effort put into cleaning it up. The indoor pool is lovely,... more
