This is a well placed hotel for touring the Picos de Europe. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast has plenty of choice from hot food to continental. The restaurant could be a bit more adventurous by not having the same menu all week for lunch and dinner, merely offering one or two different dishes each day as "specials" would help. I stayed during a march 2005 weekend at the Parador of Cervera de Pisuerga (north of Palencia). I like the Paradores, state owned great hotels, usually in castles or other charming buildings. The Parador at Cervera has possibly the best views I have ever experienced from a hotel balcony.
