Despite the weather being up and down and a couple of gripes we had a brilliant relaxing week's stay at the Monteplaya. The staff were very friendly and attentive, especially Carmel in the restaurant and the service from all excellent. Got back last Sunday 23rd after a week there-could have done with a bit longer! The hotel never felt crowded even at the busiest time of year. just returned from 2 weeks at the Monteplaya and was pleasantly surprised. Didn't have very high expectations based on some of the reviews and the price I paid, however we had a great time. This was my first visit to Spain and I wasn't disappointed. Don't like anywhere too commercial and this suited. its our 3rd visit and we'll be back!!! the hotel is central to the promanade, it has two pools, a sun terace, and lots of poolside seating. its across the road from the beach, the train is ten mins walk away. We went to the Monteplaya with Shearings and found it very clean with maid service every day , the public areas were also clean and staff were courteous, the down side for us was the dining room , we felt like battery chickens all crammed in together , queueing up for food and having to share a table with another... more
