We looked extensively on trip advisor before we went to Sri Lanka last week, and settled on staying at Hikkaduwa. After two nights we then came down and stayed at Unawatuna - which is heaven on earth.... We loved this place!! only three rooms but all with amazing views. $30 a night with a/c and tv and a comfortable 4 poster bed. the balconies are perfect to sit and watch the ocean all day. more

We booked for 3 nights and stayed for one month!! If you want a more personal experience of Sri Lanka then this is the place. The staff are really friendly, the owner is a wealth of knowledge, the cook serves up delicious food and the rooms are fab - balconies overlooking the beautiful beach.
