Location is right in town but you wouldnt know it. We didnt have a car - but there are plenty of parking spots for those who do. The rooms are clean and every cabin has a front porch which we took advantage of each day. The showers are strong, beds comfortable. Each room had pegs to hang up coats and... more

We stayed in cabin 4 which has two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom w/shower - no tub, plus a living area with futon. One bedroom had a double and a single bed. The other had a double. Each room had its own key. Cost $128 per night for cabin. The cabin was lovely. Lots of windows with screens. Bathroom and... more

We stayed with our daughters for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom cottage (# 1) and enjoyed our stay. The cabin was all wood nicely furnished. The bed was comfortableThough below our cottage was the service staff areas so log of noise every morning as the staff started their work. The staff at the front desk was polite and gave... more

We loved this place! It was very clean and our cabin was beautiful. It was only a short walk to restaurants and other shops and banks in town. The staff was very helpful in setting up tours. The breakfast, while not included was very very good. Every morning local farmers would show up to deliver the fruit for the day... more

I never stayed in this place as I never got beyond the unsatisfactory reservation experience. After looking at the website and checking the Trip Advisor reviews, I inquired into availability of the single cabin. I heard back that they had availability but what was listed was a "standard room." I then inquired if this was a single cabin and was... more

We opted for one of the smaller cabinas, the only thing I would recommend is to ask to be in the main area, ours were kind of on the side on the walkway leading up to the place and felt a little secluded from the nice central courtyard. The reception was very informative and helpful. The location is perfect to... more

When we arrived there, the place looked even better than the pictures. I loved that you have your own little cottage with one room. Staff was very friendly with helping us set up our tours. I recommend taking the breakfast because for the money paid you get a lot of great food. The tour guide for our Cloud Forest tour... more

Rustic and serene surroundings. It is a simple place and the staff were helpful in getting us tours. We had an amazing guide Adrian who took us to the Cloud Forest - he was excellent! Also know that you will find bugs...it is the Cloud Forest.... There is a breakfast for $7 which is a mix of continental and Latin... more

Compared with the other places we stayed in CR, this place was not as good. The noise was the worst, but if you stay in Santa Elena, you will probably hear it. We did not see any wildlife here and the breakfast was expensive. The room and bath were very small. more

All in all a lovely place and much nicer than we expected of "ecolodges". Helpful staff, clean rooms, and great grounds. Breakfast very fresh right from the garden. The hotel is practically right in town - it's hard to see from the photos, but we walked down to the main strip of Monteverde on a number of occasions - only... more
