Yes the rooms are small and tiny - really tiny, but they were clean and best of all the hotel is opposite the ferry port making it perfect if you want to catch the ferry, or you are arriving on the late ferry and want an overnight stop. The rooms are so small that the hotel calls them cabins, which says it all ! I visited this hotel again in Sept 08 and it is now completly non smoking, inc the rooms. Staff friendly and helpful again and the room is still clean and just fine. Its a good choice for a stay in the area or an overnight stay for the ferry. more

I visited this hotel for an overnight stop in September whilst on a business trip and travelling on the Portsmouth to Caen ferry. The location is next to the ferry port and therefore very convenient for tired travellers. The rooms were well designed, clean and tidy and it’s handy to have a hairdryer in the bathroom. My travel agent booked the Hotel Le Riva Bella in Ouisterham. I had difficulty locating the hotel as the name is not prominently displayed. I finally discovered that it was the huge blocklike building situated almost on top of Sword beach, next to the memorial. This hotel is part of the Mercure chain and located right next to the ferry terminal. It is ideal for those arriving on the late ferry and looking for an overnight stop before continuing south into France or alternatively to break a journey back to the UK. Good hotel with a great restaurant that is litterally across the street from the ferry. The rooms were just the right size, quiet and clean. Staff does speak some English. I've posted a couple of pictures for reference. more
