Stayed at Hotel Violetta on Oct. 11, 2009. It is centrally located on the strip overlooking the water. First floor balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard and and the sea, with its mountainous background. This serene, uncommercialized area is more known to the locals so there are not too many Engish speaking people in the area. This was not a problem at Hotel Violetta. The staff was more than willing to assist, and communicated well in English. It has a cafe out front. Not sure what else they may serve, as we didn't have a chance to explore it during our one night stay. A wonderful stay. The hot springs of Themopolaye are a cab ride away. Beware that those springs, in keeping with traditional Greek business hours, close early in the day, at least at this time of year. Thank you to the staff of Hotel Violetta! more
