The Castello studios are set back from a main road that links the resorts of Hersonissos, Stalis and Malia. The rooms are very basic but are clean and tidy. The actual beds are on a stone base built against the walls so cannot be moved together as you usually could do with two singles. We had a room at the back of the property so didn't experience any traffic noise although I would imagine this may be different at the front. Our room had air conditioning (which cost 50 euros per week) but this isn't available in all the rooms, although you can hire a fan (15 euros per week) if needed.

The best feature of the hotel is the family who run the property. Manos, Stella and their son George are very helpful and give a friendly feel to the apartments. They live on site during the summer months so if you have any problems they are readily availabe to sort them out.
