I come from Cyprus, and with a friend we arrived at the Karellion Hotel during our Greece visit for the Acropolis Rally. We liked the location and the hotel looked very quaint on the outside so our spirits were up.
However, the creepy managers were our first clue that not all was as it seemed on the outside. The reception area was alright, but very dark, because the older manager was sitting in the main sofa watching TV and smoking a pipe all day long - I am not kidding. All day and all night if his shift allowed. He made weird comments and often tried to be polite and engage us in conversation as soon as he realised we were Cypriot, female, and could speak the language (his English was terrible), but there was a weird kind of ickiness on his comments. Ugh.
The room was not what we expected. It was clean, no complaints on hygiene, but it was dated, with horrible furnishings and some things which were mind boggling, like for example the nice combination of a small...
