Let me start by saying neither my wife not I golf. But even without golfing on the course (which looked pretty incredible), we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were spaceous, modern, clean. Plenty of room in the bathrooms and a wonderful shower. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. We also found... more

The Lodge at Doobeg is a beautiful place to stay, the rooms are gorgeous, the staff are friendly and attentive and the golf course is out of this world. The views from some of the holes are literally breathtaking- to be fair we got to play on a beautiful sunny June afternoon so we were spoiled. The staff in the... more

I have to start this review by saying that the Lodges at Doonbeg are one of the most stunning places I've ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive, you know you're about to experience something special. You're welcomed with the smell of a turf fire at reception, an area which proudly showcases numerous books full of positive guest comments,... more

From the moment you arrive you are made very aware of your difference in the pecking order. I parked, as you would assume, at the front of the reception in a car parking area to check in. After it was done, we were ushered out and shown to our accommodation. We were encouraged to remove the car and re-park it... more

Seven of the family stayed in a four bedroom suite to celebrate a special wedding anniversary. Four double/twin bedrooms, all ensuite with a large sitting room and kitchen. The whole suite was beautiful furnished and decorated and had every possible amenity. The views of the sea and the golf course are beautiful. The staff were very kind and considerate and... more

We stayed at the lodge earlier this month and had a great time. The place itself isn't exactly well-signed, which meant we were quite late arriving, but despite that a couple of guys appeared out of nowhere to help us with our luggage which was much appreciated after a long enough journey. The suites were lovely, indeed the whole setting... more

Stayed in one of the ocean view suites on sat night last, initially thought the price was a little high but it had come very highly recommended so I went with it and am I glad I did. The suites are absolutely huge, and so plush they are set on two levels, very very large sitting and dining area with... more

We stayed here for two nights to finish off our honeymoon. We stayed in Suite 4, and it was amazing. The hotel is totally remote and ironically neither of us are golfers, but there's a fabulous beach for walks, and with a hotel this gorgeous, you wouldn't want to leave it. Our suite was just that- like a mini apartment.... more

This was the most amazing week. We stayed in one of the four bedroom cottages with three other couples (two foursomes). The cottages were roomy, and really well appointed. We never felt crampt, and the bedrooms and bathrooms had all of the high end mod cons. The golf course is the best I have ever played, so much so that... more

Stayed here for two nights in March and it was just superb. We had stayed the previous March and it was fantastic to return and find it just as good. This hotel is truly five star - rooms, service, food - nothing can be faulted. From the moment you pull up and someone magically appears out of no-where to assist... more
