As other travelers have noted, Trim is the perfect location for your first or last night in Ireland. Although it's not much fun learning to drive on the other side of the road when you are jet-lagged, the drive to Trim was short enough, and the countryside so inviting, that it made for a very manageable start to our adventure.... more

Highfield House is beatifully landscaped and has a lovely outdoor patio for visitors to enjoy. The owners were also pleasant. I just came back from having stayed at the Highfield Guest House. It is absolutely beautiful. Stayed in Highfield House one night and it was the lowest place of all the places we stayed on our trip. Bed was saggy and linens just didn't look fresh - they probably were, but in comparison to other places we stayed, it was a little shabby. more
