We enjoyed ourselves so much with the wonderful hospitality and breakfasts that we are returning in force(7 of us) for three days in Sep 2010. We can't wait. more

We stayed with Geraldine and Eddie at their beautiful B&B just across the street from Trim Castle. The grounds are lovely and we felt right at home. They provide a made to order breakfast. There are peaceful walking paths all around. We had a car but didn't want to drive into Dublin. We took the bus (there are 12 a... more

As other travelers have noted, Trim is the perfect location for your first or last night in Ireland. Although it's not much fun learning to drive on the other side of the road when you are jet-lagged, the drive to Trim was short enough, and the countryside so inviting, that it made for a very manageable start to our adventure.... more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Highfield House. The rooms were large, exceptionally clean, well decorated and have great views of the beautifully landscaped grounds. The breakfast was very nice, a great start to the day. The B&B is right next to the castle and town. Easy to sight see during the day and go out for dinner and... more

This is a top-notch B&B. We had five in our party and occupied three rooms, and Geraldine's warmness made us feel welcome and helped to make our stay in Trim pleasant and memorable. The Highfield is spotless, rooms are spaceous and breakfast is to get up early for. We were very pleasantly surprised by the unhearalded town of Trim and... more

Highfield House is beatifully landscaped and has a lovely outdoor patio for visitors to enjoy. The owners were also pleasant. However, the actual rooms, though clean, had bedspreads and blankets that looked fairly worn, and the furniture in the bedrooms was spotted. The Highfield House is a great location for sightseeing in the Boyne Valley, and is right across the... more

My wife and I stayed at Highfield House on our trip to Ireland this summer. We could not have asked for a better place to stay on our first night in Ireland. We had flown into Dublin that morning and spent the day at Knowth and Newgrange, both great archelogical sites. The trip to Trim was pretty easy and Highfield... more

The Highfield House was a nice first stop on my 3 week vacation in Ireland. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and offered tea. We declined and was shown our room. The floors squeak loudly and the stairs are bare wood so a lot of noise is made when traveling to and from your room. I thought this was... more

I just came back from having stayed at the Highfield Guest House. It is absolutely beautiful. The landscaping is beyond gorgeous, with a lovely large front yard, flowers, trees, bushes, and stone architecture leading up the driveway. The view from the moment you step out the front door is of the Yellow Steeple, Sheep Gate, Boyne River, and absolutely cute... more

Stayed in Highfield House one night and it was the lowest place of all the places we stayed on our trip. Bed was saggy and linens just didn't look fresh - they probably were, but in comparison to other places we stayed, it was a little shabby. more
