What a wonderful time we had staying at Cretaiole as part of this year's Thanksgiving week! Everything was spot on from the accommodations, the basket of treats awaiting us, the activities, the meals, and the great people we met. From walks in the countryside, truffle hunting, pici making, wine tastings, and a 5-course feast prepared by Chef Giancarlo, we couldn't have planned a better celebration of the Tuscan countryside and its bountiful harvest. Can't thank Luciano, Carlo, Nicco, and Fernanda enough for letting us share in their lives and the Cretaoile experience - we will forever treasure the memories of a wonderful stay!

Absolutely stunning!!!! My husband and I have planned our trip to Italy for a long time. We wanted an authentic experience and Cretaiole certainly delivered. The location, the farm, the service and the wonderful owners and guests we met will rank our experience to Italy as #1. We were able to partake in fun and memorable activities (which the staff developed for their guests) and explore the region. After long and exciting days of exploration, it was great to come back to relax and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful grounds in which Cretaiole is located. We stayed in the Cantina and it was just lovely. It's now been a month since our return and we have not stopped recommending to our family and friends that if they are ever in Italy, Cretaiole is certainly the Agriturismo they should consider to stay. We would love to visit again.

We spent a wonderful week exploring Tuscany with Cretaiole as our home base. It is centrally located allowing one to visit many of Tuscany's beautiful hill towns and enjoy all that the area has to offer. It is a beautiful property, with lovely accommodations and plenty of outdoor spaces and views to enjoy. Most importantly, the people of Cretaiole are incredibly special - Carlo, Luciano, Niccolo, and Fernanda - and they made us feel like family. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was memorable, including arranging for wine tastings, dinner reservations, a visit with a truffle hunter, exploring their farm and grounds, exploring their hermitage with its rich history, and even making a tiamisu to celebrate my birthday at the family dinner following the pici making class, a highlight of the week! Should we ever return to Tuscany, we will without a doubt return to Cretaiole. It is a gem not to be missed.

This is our second time staying at Cretaiole. The experience is always wonderful. The grounds are peaceful and the scenery extraordinary. But what really makes it an experience are the people, Fernanda, Carlo, Nicco, Leoni, Alessandra and Lucciano. From taking the worry about any excursions you wish to take to making recommendations on where to eat, get the best wine and cheese or gelato, they are there for you, thanks Fernanda. We looked forward to Thursday night Pici making and long table dinner with the other guests and Lucciano showing up with his Vin Santo and Grappa! The grounds are imacculate and the ability to see for miles around spectacular. Doing the morning hike with Carlo of about 5 klicks and hearing his passion for the land was inspiring. We toured the Hermitage (700 AD) with Nicco and his knowledge plus his love of the site and what mysteries and discoveries it may hold was very evident. The rooms are well appointed with several having a kitchenette or full kitchens and are very comfortable. Parking on site is another plus. The proximity to Pienza was perfect, a 10 minute drive, but being able to park at their farm was a big plus in not having to search for a spot. Once parked it was a short 5 minute walk to the center with many shops and restaurants. I would not hesitate to send friends there and we are sure that it will not be our last.

Don and I have been here six times. It just seems to get better and better. If this will be your first time in Tuscany (or your seventh time), know you will be in good hands. Cretaiole is beautifully decorated including the comfort of fine sheets and towels. The bathrooms are lovely and updated. The Dolce Vita package is well worth it, offering many wonderful activities. The warmth and charm of all the people who work there will have you coming back again and again.

The location was very picturesque and peaceful, a short drive from Pienza, in the heart of Tuscany. Carlo, Luciano, Niccolò and Fernanda made us feel like part of their extended family and the experience could not have gone better. I would definitely recommend the "Isabella" experience for your stay. This is an optional package that offers Pasta making, Truffle hunting, watercolor painting, horseback riding, hikes, massages, olive oil and wine tastings, and tours of the family farm and "hermitage", an archeological site inside a cave. We loved every second of our trip and can't wait to come back and give everyone a great big hug. The building is an old farm house built in 300 AD and has an addition built in 1300 AD. Being an old farm house, you will not find air conditioning, however, they have ceiling fans and the walls are thick stone which keeps the living quarters cool even on the hottest days. We got back home yesterday and I miss it already.

All during COVID , I dreamed of going back to Cretaiole and my dream came true for my 70 th birthday .Once again , it exceeded my expectations. Our accommodations in the farmhouse would excellent and we made life long friends with other guests. Fernanda was fantastic at communications and helped us locate our country side destinations by pinning the locations. The highlight of the trip for me was a tour of their private hermitage that Nico and Carlos are lovingly taking care . It is walking back in history and so informative . Another fun event was truffle hunting with Nico and Rocky, his dog, and learning about The Truffle Wars. Rocky found two truffles and we had a lovely lunch of truffle pâté . It is definitely a hike so taking your hiking shoes! Pasta making with Nico was challenging but rewarding with a ragu afterwards under the Tuscan sun. This is a magical place so book your trip. We would in Florence just before coming to Cretaiole which was crazy busy . The farmhouse was a place to decompress and be totally immersed in the culture and gorgeous surroundings. Book your stay now !

The accommodations were great - the property was lovely. We were greeted with a wonderful welcome basket of local foods - quite a treat. Fernanda, Nicco and Carlos were wonderful hosts - they really made us feel part of the family. The Isabella experience - Dolce vita package was well worth it, the itinerary was well structured and still flexible. We enjoyed all of the planned activities immensely and it felt like it gave us a thorough and immersive experience of Tuscany. Some of our favorite tours included the family farm, the Hermitage site, the truffle hunt and the tour of Sienna. Dinner at La Moscadella as well as the wine tasting at Poggio Grande were wonderful experiences. Whenever we had spare time, Nicco and Fernanda were able to offer wonderful suggestions on extra things we could do such as visit a local hot springs. We would definitely return to Tuscany, and when we do, it will be at one of Isabella's properties.

What an amazing experience this was, trip of a lifetime. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. Without a doubt the most outstanding hospitality we have ever experienced from the details of our stay at our apartment (Il Nido) in Castelmuzio outside Pienza to all the great activities and people that we were blessed to spend time with. Some of the activities include a guided walk of the property Cretaiole and countryside including a walk through ancient olive groves. The Hermitage was a living walkthrough history reaching back to early inhabitants of the region. We also had an opportunity to go horseback riding and to make fresh Pici pasta. We had a lovely morning truffle hunting that was very educational and al fresco truffle tasting. Our hosts also took us on a tour of their working farm. The individualized concierge service that was provided was impressive and made activities seamless. Arrangements easily made for local restaurants and other activities. Isabella, Luciano, Carlos, Nico and Fernanda ensured that the experiences we had were superb and outstanding. As cretaiole guests we received VIP treatment usually reserved for family. Love love love
