We stayed at this Tuscany Dream from September 2-5/12 for my daughter's wedding. The scene and location is still being digested even a month after coming home. We have already tentatively booked another stay in early May 2013 and cannot wait! The sheer historical sense of being there brought a surreal feeling. The staff- in particular: Valeria was so much... More

La Tenuta Croce di Bibbiano is truly a wonderful place. The rooms and apartments are very nice, charming and clean. And the setting is absolutely gorgeous. I've visited Tuscany countryside quite a few times now, and I have to say that there is no better place than the Tenuta. And it's well-located to visit most points of interest, such a... More

Only problem was the lack of ice. Not only at the villa but all over the area. Only certain rooms had A/C which made the stay hot and uncomfortable. The wine at the estate was excellent. Breakfast were very good but could have been varied from day to day to break things up. There is only so much parma ham... More

We went to the Croce di Bibbiano for lunch as part of our hiking tour of Tuscany. This place is beautiful. It has a gorgeous view of San Gimignano, the vineyards below, and the tuscan hills. The host was very nice and even shared her recipes with us. We enjoyed a lovely lunch of panzanella salad, a variety of bruschettas,... More

Was here for 3 nights as part of a wedding in early June. Amazing views of San Gimignano from the pool! Valeria (the host) prepared some delicious food (although you have to request dinner in advance), and the Chianti was excellent! Would definitely return. When you come here, expect to relax, take things slow, and enjoy the unbelievable surroundings.

My family took a 2 week trip to Italy in June. After several hectic days in Rome, we were thrilled with the accomodations at San Gimignano Vistas (Croce Di bibbiano). They upgraded our room so we had a 3 bedroom apartment at no extra charge. The first night there was the highlight of our trip with a wine tasting and... More

Stayed here in Oct 2008 for a massive family reunion(38)of us, accomodation is situated in a fantastic get away from it all area, with a brilliant view of San Gimiano. However inside the rooms are rather basic, it seems that one set of furniture has been bought for each apartment so one room has a chest of drawers, another a... More

It sure looks beautiful in the photos. But its what you cant see that can hurt you. Literally. This farm has no air conditioning (which is not surprising for Italy), but it also has no fans or cooling of any kind (which is a little surprising) and no screens on the windows (which is very surprising). All of the above... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Croce di Bibbiano is an ancient farm nestled in a magnificient unique natural environment surrounded by vineyards, olive-groves and little woods at about 6 km far from San Gimignano, 25 km far from Siena and 35 km far from Florence. Easily reachable and ideal starting point in order to discover the ‘beauties’ of the Chianti region with its smooth hills, the ancient picturesque villages, where it seems that time has stopped, the numberless wine cellars and least but not last the typical Tuscan welcoming’s friendliness. Our estate is composed of ancient stone-made farm-houses and is situated on the top of an hill facing San Gimignano, with a magnificient view on the medieval towers and on the below standing valleys. It’s located in the hearth of a property of about 60 acres, which includes 30 acres of vineyards, producing quality wines and more that 1000 olive trees, producing a very tasty and high quality cold pressed extravergin olive oil. [ + ] The farm-houses have been recently completely restored in typical tuscan style maintaining intact the original old architectonic elements and can accomodate from 4 up to 7 people. At disposal of the guests: wide panoramic gardens and courts (more than 10.000 sqm) equipped with tables and chairs; a big swimming-pool (mt 7 x 15), situated on a natural terrace facing San Gimignano and an enchanting landscape; a barbecue-area, spacious common halls, Internet WI-FI, parking-places, playing-ground for children, a little laundry and a reception-office with our qualified staff, who speaks several languages and is always ready to assist you at all events. Our estate, an old monastery dated ‘ late Middle Ages’, is situated along the ancient Roman ‘Via Francigena’, scenery of long history and legends handed on through the centuries: one of these tells about a nail coming from the Jesus Christ’s Holy Cross’ , that was found by a little girl on one of our hills called since then ‘Holy Nail Hill’. Nowadays the relic is inside the Colle Val d’Elsa Dom. The monastery was at the time an halting-place between San Gimignano and Colle Val d’Elsa for all the pilgrims going to Rom. Still nowadays our vineyards are connected by the ancient path to San Gimignano (about 7 km) and to Colle Val d’Elsa (about 5 km) and you can reach them walking through a magnificient landscape. A wide range of services and activities: trekking in the surroundings, riding or biking, tuscan cooking-classes, wine-tastings of renowned wines produced in our estate and many more…, will make your stay an unforgettable experience in touch with the nature, art, culture, wine & food Tuscan traditions. ... more   less
