We have stayed at Cawsand several times over the years and though there has been a change of ownership since we last stayed we were not disappointed. We were looked after very well with friendly and very helpful staff and In our opinion the cleanliness, furnishings and decor of the hotel rooms were of a higher standard than previously. We... more

We stayed for a few nights in June. We waited over 45 minutes for breakfast on the first morning and we were only one of three tables. In the evening the dinner was a disgrace, the fish was tasteless and overcooked. We tried a second evening meal but it was just as bad so went to the delightful Halfway House... more

In late summer 2009 we stopped in the village for a week and made the mistake of not booking into a pub or resturant one Friday night. Everywhere in Cawsand & Kingsand was busy - everywhere apart from the Bay Hotel, which had 6 people in it. This should have been a clue really. Although the location is great the... more

The friendliness and efficiency of the staff was amazing. They couldn't do enough to help. The views from the (6) rooms we took were lovely and the windows were low enough to sit by and still see out. The food was freshly prepared each time we ate there and was well presented. The only thing that marred the stay was... more

Stayed for 1 night whilst passing through area. Hadn't booked a room but was met by male manager who was extremely friendly and helpful. He showed us a couple of rooms which had obviously just gone through a refurb. The views are lovely, looking out across the bay to Plymouth. You could hear the waves gently rolling in onto the... more

What can I say. We booked the hotel a few days before travelling and were not sure what to expect. We had been 5 years previously for a meal - as parents were staying there and to be honest it was looking very tired and unloved. We had read that it had undergone a makeover but in my experience some... more

This hotel is so much nicer than it looks on its website. Randomly picked it as we were going to a wedding nearby. Really friendly staff, all rooms with seaview and a fine breakfast! Felt like we had had a proper mini break! The villages of Cawsand and Kingsand are so picturesque and a few good pubs to visit. So... more
