I spend part of the year in nearby Lower Largo and eat at the bistro fairly often. It has a warm cosy ambience and the overall food quality is very good. Staff are very helpful and menu choice is reasonable given the size of the restaurant. more

I was put in a lodge on the outside of the hotel...no one could tell me where the light switch is...it was dark and raining...a bunch of keys were given to me but not labelled... I had to try each key in the dark before I can get into the lodge....I was told a room number that does not exist....I... more

We have no lodge. The light switches are just inside the doors. It gets dark and sometimes it rains here.We do not give out "bunches of keys". All our room numbers exist. This can be confirmed by looking at the large brass key fob with number clearly engraved on it which comes with each room key . We recieved no...

Having read one or two adverse comments re this hotel, I was a little apprehensive about my visit on 30/31 October. On arrival, first impressions were not too promising as we were allocated a ground floor room at the front, overlooking the car park and the main road. However, the room was spacious and the beds very comfortable - they... more

We paid for a balcony. It turned out to be a wooden verndah, with no view Restaurant closed. Coachman bistro only option unless you find another eaterie. Staff overworked. Food in the bistr0 - awful and overpriced. Please do not eat the so called haddock or scampi - quite awful. We loved the staff but not the food or accommation more

This is a surprisingly nice hotel. We stayed in the annexed house next door and were taken aback that we had a kitchen and lounge with views of the sea from the windows. There are two other flats here as well which share the house next to the car park. The Hotel breakfast was plentiful and the haggis was something... more

This is a lovely hotel and it would be hard to critical. Excellent food served in the coachouse, friendly staff and good menu. I can thoroughly recomend this, cant see why previous guest found a problem more

We've just came back from a lovely one night stay. The hospitality of the staff could not be surpassed. Nothing would have been too much trouble for them. (one of the chef's even jump started one of our motorcycles when it wouldn't 'play' for our sunny trip home) The breakfast room is outstanding with its view out on to the... more

We booked a short break at this hotel but ended up staying for five days. I can fully recommend this hotel especially if you like views of the sea. We had a bedroom with a lovely large wooden decked balcony which had superb views over the golf course and the sea. There is a lovely walk across the golf course... more

We read some pretty awful reviews after we booked a 2 night stay B&B+ Dinner, but I can say we were really pleased with our stay.We were upgraded to a room with a huge balcony overlooking the golf course and the coast. The hotel was warm and cozy and the staff were friendly.Dinner at this time of year is in The... more

Stayed here for two nights in February 2009. Had a good deal via the 'Yorkshire Post' newspaper. Hotel is of traditional type and appeared well maintained. Decor throughout is traditional, perhaps due for a little up-dating, but we thought it attractive overall. It is a low-rise building with an attractive outlook over a links golf course and the sea. Breakfast... more
