We stayed here on the 30th december 2006. Main reason being that I wanted to take the children into the Gobblin Forrest. This place is a little hard to find, there are no signs from the Highway and it is a 10klm drive along pembroke road to get there. The Mountain House is styled along a swiss mountain chalet. We stayed in a family unit which had a Bedroom/Kitchen/Lounge combined and seperate bedroom, and bathroom. Decor is "swiss chalet" and a little dated, but the unit was exceptionally clean, tidy and well maintained and had kitchen facilities with everthing you needed. The only odd thing about the unit is where the heater is placed. The units are centrally heated with a long strip heater along one wall. Above this heater is the luggage shelf. We quickly discovered that this was not a good place for suitcases as they get rather hot!. No extractor fan in the bathroom makes it hard to see to shave.
